The configuration
The main windows of MyTunesRSS shows the server and database status information and controls and buttons for the different configuration dialogs.
Server status
You can start and stop the server and open the server information window here. You can also see the current status of the server.
Database status
The database status shows the time of the last update or the current status of a running update. You can update the database manually with the button or reset the database. A reset removes the whole database contents, so you need to run an update afterwards. Please also note that playlists you create in the MyTunesRSS web interface are only stored in the database with no additional backup, so these are lost if you perform a reset.
Configuration
With the buttons you can open the corresponding configuration dialogs. The windows positions and sizes of the dialogs are stored in the configuration, so once you resize or move the dialog windows on your screen, the geometrics are kept. The options themselves are saved each time you close the corresponding dialog window.
Server info
In the server info window you can see the internal addresses of your MyTunesRSS server and the external address. You might have one or more internal addresses. This depends on how many network interfaces you have, e.g. a WLAN connection and a normal LAN connection. If you are accessing MyTunesRSS inside your local network, e.g. from a Playstation Portable or a Nintendo Wii, just try all the internal addresses in case you don't know which network both devices (the server and the client) are using. If the client is not the same computer that is running MyTunesRSS you will have to configure the firewall on the MyTunesRSS computer to allow incoming TCP traffic on the port you have configured. If you are accessing your server from outside your home network over the internet, you have to use the external address and in this case you also have to configure your router to forward incoming traffic on the configured port to the internal IP address of the computer running MyTunesRSS. Firewall and router configuration is system and software/hardware dependent, so there are no general instructions here. If you cannot manage to setup your network components you might try the Codewave forums at http://board.codewave.de for help.
The server info window also contains a table with all active connected clients. You can see the remote address, the logged in user, the connection time, the last access time and how much data has been streamed in that specific session.
